Years Active 2012 to present
Members Daniel Symons (aka D-JEONG)
D-JEONG melds many different influences within the electronic music genre into his own unique sounds. His sound is quite diverse from hip hop beats, to EDM, to ambient and experimental music, D-JEONG explores many of these within his music.
Daniel Symons (D-JEONG) studied composition and music technology at the West Australian Academy of Performing arts and graduated at the end of 2012. After graduating, Daniel had been hard at work writing new material and exploring different genres. Hip Hop was definitely a new genre Daniel delved into and ever since that day, he's been writing many hip hop tracks but still incorporating some of his other influences into them. After having a solid set of hip hop tracks, Daniel got offered to do his first gig at Matches Small Bar in NorthBridge and since that was really well received by people, he has been working on new material and has played many more gigs locally such as Village Oblivia at the Velvet Lounge, NoizeMaschine which happens at The Perth Artifactory in Osbourne Park and has recently become a regular performer at the Beat Lounge which happens at the Bird and The Good Shepherd. Recently Daniel also performed at the WAM Saturday Spectacular festival and is planning to launch his official debut EP Early 2014.
D-JEONG is influenced from many local beat makers and producers such as TA-KU, Flume, Hermitude as well as many many others.
Since it has been Daniel's first year out of WAAPA, gradually getting known in the scene and playing at a number of gigs has been a huge highlight for 2013 and he continues to keep taking every opportunity he can to make his career successful. Daniel has also written music for films as well as contemporary dance choreographers.
D-JEONG is currently in Perth, Western Australia. He's working on new material to add to his rep and is working towards launching his debut EP early 2014.
