Trent and Kim met at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2013, where Trent was the youngest musician accepted into the singer/songwriter program at the age of 16 years. Kim is currently achieving academic excellence in the program, well beyond the expectations for a musician only 18 years of age.
Birds of Tokyo and John Butler have done a lot for the Western Australian music industry.
At the Ellington on 22nd of July 2013, Room for Reason will be sharing a bill with Shameem, Steve Hensby and Matt Allen. They have previously performed at several open mic nights, with highlights including Toni Etherson (Scottish songstress).
Highlights for both Trent and Kim include being accepted into the 2013 singer/songwriter program offered by WAAPA. Recent career highlights include signing to BMM Record Label and Publishing Company in July 2013 and releasing their debut single - Infinite. "Infinite is a song about a girly". Their debut EP - Hearts and Crosses - is scheduled for release in August 2013. Personal moment for Trent included when Tom Coyne (sound engineer who has worked with Adele, Taylor Swift, P!nk, Maroon 5, Beyonce and One Direction) contacting Room for Reason saying "Great song….incredible voice !!!! Good luck with this single."
Room for Reason is completing their EP in Sumo Studios from 23rd-26th of July 2013. Then a series of launches, competitions and a high school tour will commence in August and September of 2013 to promote the album.
Kim Thair currently plays in the band Why Georgia - performing cover gigs around Perth
