Hayley has established herself one of the newest creatives in the Western Australian art scene, having made the move to Australia from the UK in 2009.
She has previously exhibited in London and New York and is quickly becoming recognized for her surreal, wide-eyed creatures on found objects.
With a history in Scientific and Natural History Illustration, Hayley’s paintings display a technical approach, mixed with nostalgia and humour, yet her playful aura is juxtaposed with darker undertones of the unknown and abyss.
My name is Kendi, I am 14 years old. I go to Shenton college, year nine and struggle through the math and science, but my interest and passion is sparked when I get to be involved in something creative. I love fashion, art, film and photography and I love to feel connected with places, art, cultures and things.
I’m African born, but adopted by an Australian family. I am excited about exploring my roots further. My home country, Ethiopia, is so ancient and the culture is rich and interesting. We live neat Fremantle and I feel lucky to live near such a vibrant place. To describe myself in a few words, I would say I am loyal, creative, shy, genuine and hard working, but there is a lot more to me!
