Dennis Gedling
Dennis was originally supposed to be forged in the fires of hell by Lucifer himself but due to a mix up in admin he was born to Murray and Kathleen Gedling in a bawdy seventies hospital. Dennis started on-air with RTR in 2008 after wasting time at other radio stations and traveling around Europe and Japan finding himself (he was found in Finsbury Park behind an off-licence).
When he isn’t following the Geelong Cats or Perth Glory by pain of death you can hear Dennis on Drivetime every Wednesday and sometimes also keeping people up past their bed time on Brain Blood Volume on Saturday nights.

Q & A
How did you become involved?
When I moved back to Perth I was asked by the management if I wanted to get back in to radio and co-ordinate a new rock program on RTR and it went from there.
How long have you been with RTRFM?
In this stint since 2007 but on and off since 1996 in some form, mainly as a volunteer.
What do you enjoy most about presenting?
I enjoy putting the shows together, interviewing or meeting interesting people you wouldn’t otherwise meet and sharing music with listeners that you otherwise wouldn’t hear on other Perth radio.
Strangest experience at RTRFM?
Apart from the time a rather popular late night show tried getting the transmission tower struck by lighting around 1999 there are too many to mention from the old UWA days…that’s all I’ll say.
Favourite RTRFM programs?
Sunday Morning Coming Down has held my hand and whispered it’s ok through a few hangovers but you can’t go past Soulsides, Trainwreck and El Ritmo.
What do you do in real life?
RTR is real life to me on Fantasy Island. In reality I do the odd media bit, deal with the grief of judges and lawyers on a daily basis and watch far too much football or procrastinate.
