I have been involved in the Perth music scene and RTRFM for a couple of decades. I like my cat Kim, vegan food, watching footy, playing golf and putting on gigs. I have been a director at RTRFM on two occasions, served on a stack of committees, and was even employed as Events Manager and Music Director for many years. WAM have given me some cakes that I can’t eat and I have done many many jobs in the music industry. I think RTRFM is tops and just about the most important thing in Perth. Don’t you?
How did you become involved in the station?
Initially I was a guest on Still Dreaming in the dim dark past (was it UVS then?). In 1993 I decided to put away CDs and do reception. Mark Genge, Paula Gallaher, Kath Letch and others made me feel welcome so I never left, although they all did.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
- Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath
- Jimi Hendrix – Electric Ladyland
- Neil Young – Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
- Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On
- Fugazi – In on the Killtaker
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
Listening to the music programs – Shows like OTL, Full Freq, Woodstock, Underground Solution, Posted, Critical Mass and many others continue to blow my mind, and probably always will.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
Always wanted to do Drastic but never got the call…
What do you do in real life?
I run life is noise – we put on gigs.
