I’m a musician and lifelong music nerd. I’m super interested in finding new and challenging music. I’m always looking for the new thing, my time at RTRFM has allowed me the space to explore that.
How did you become involved in the station?
I used to look forward to Ronan Lane’s Out To Lunch broadcasts every week. I would talk about those programs with my friends on the weekend. A couple of conversations with another presenter at the station convinced me to dive in and give it a try. So far, it’s been one of the best decisions I ever made.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
Madvillain – Madvillainy
Deerhunter – Halcyon Digest
Sleep – Dopesmoker
Slint – Spiderland
Built To Spill – Perfect From Now On
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
The people! Community broadcasting is a labor of love.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
I’m lucky (?) enough that my experiences at the station haven’t been too strange yet. When I hosted my first overnight show, I was expecting to get some wild phone calls. I only got one and it was from a baker on his way to work, telling me that he liked the grindcore I had just played.
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
What do you do in real life?
I’m a born again university student.
