One of Perth’s true house music gems, Jane Jaya Ayres has maintained a solid foot hold in musical relevance as a DJ in Australia and the UK over the past 10 years, particularly a regular return to play in Glasgow , Scotland.

Jane Jaya has been playing records from the tender age of 13. Her family being a big influence toward to love for wax. Growing up listening to everything from Country and Motown to 80’s New Romantic and 70’s rock has led her to her solid foundations for a love for everything electronic and a DJ residency at her DC brand (aka DepthCharge), alongside musical partner, Frazer Devine. She also completed with merit, the respected Diploma of Audio Production course at Glasgow’s Stow College.
With the likes of Derrick Carter and Marc Romboy, plus many more internationally recognised acts
sharing the booth with Jane in the northern hemisphere, since returning to her home of Perth Australia , she
has played support for the likes of Moodymanc, Lovebirds, Ron Basejam as well as techno sensation, Gary Beck,
plus hosting the techno stage at Earthcore’s first venture over to this side of the country.
With guests of that calibre showing her musical diversity….she never fails to hit the musical mark.
How did you become involved in the station?
I was interested in presenting electronic music on radio so I did my presenters course and made friends with Trainwreck team and then i was invited to join them!

What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
Meeting and experiencing artists I’ve never heard before .. its great to see and hear di erent creative people all time. Thats exciting for me.. to wonder who ill meet next you learn so much about music this way.. it really opens your mind.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
Im still waiting for something strange to happen… it’ll happen .. strangeness follows me around ;)
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why? Full Frequency… because I’m addicted to electronic music
What do you do in real life?
Im a DJ at night and I help people who are losing their hair during the day
