A former Board Member, now Independent (upper house) Candidate in the WA Election on March 11!

How did you become involved in the station?

I had a job delivering pizzas and listened to the local music show Homegrown a lot, and Kate Luke asked me if I wanted to co-present. I did! It was the 90s and the Perth scene was showing huge form, so the show was great fun. Interviewing bands like Jebs or Eskies and seeing them take on the nation.

If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?

  • Parliament – Up For the Down Stroke
  • Steve Harley – The Candidate
  • Independent Candidate – Independent Candidate
  • Senator – Senator
  • The Elected – Me First

What is the best thing about being involved in the station?

So impressed by the community – listeners and presenters – and what they deliver literally 24-7. It can actually bring a tear to my eye sometimes when I hear some really great radio or killer tunes!

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?

It’s always fun at the RTRFM Xmas party, realising no one knows what anyone else looks like – it’s radio!

If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?

If I had the musical knowledge – Trainwreck!

What do you do in real life?

I’m a creative industries lawyer, and now an Independent Candidate in the ‘upper house’ for 11 March WA Election – my platform is being more proactive and constructive in how WA develops.
