Music is a big part of my life alongside writing, painting, film photography & fashion. I first began working in music events in 2013 with the launch of Chocolate Jesus & Gala Apparel. These events led me to become a DJ with a love for underground disco, funk & boogie. I currently run event night Din Daa Daa with two close friends and am 1/2 of Intercontinental Sounds, a live music collaboration with Rosie Taylor. Alongside music I work as an Occupational Therapist providing therapy to individuals with disabilities & chronic pain.
How did you become involved in the station?
I first came into the RTR studio as a guest on The Rounds with Willy Slade. Soon after I was invited again into the studio by Tayla Strano for a interview & guest mix in lead up to Radiothon 2017.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
It’s really tough to choose the albums you couldn’t live without as I often listen to different genres of music depending on my mood, who I’m with & what I’m doing. In saying this, these would be some of my favourite albums.
John Morales- The M&M Mixers
Best Coast- Crazy For You.
Chic – C’est Chic.
Nick Cave – Push The Sky Away.
Beatles – Abbey Road.
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
The passionate volunteers & guests who float in & out of the studio. As well as being able to share the music I love with the listeners.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM
Nothing too strange as of yet…
If you could present another show other than your own, which would it be and why?
I would love to present on Black and Blue as I have an obsessive interest in world music, in particular Tropical sounds with Cuban instruments.
What do you do in real life?
I work as an Occupational Therapist & am a DJ. I also run event night Din Daa Daa & Gala Apparel.
