21! Serious fun!
Celebrations for The Blue Room Theatre’s 21st birthday commence with a local performance showcase.

21 Summer Nights, 20 Feb – 20 Mar, proudly supported by the City of Perth, includes six new works of theatre, weekly poetry slams and live music gigs, and 21 brand new solo performances – from comedy to dance, monologue to circus, and more!

Mondays catch Out of the Blue – the latest work in progress. Tuesday – Thursday, Early Stages sees an original work about to launch into a tour, full season, or further development. Tuesdays also feature the hit of 2009’s Summer Nights, Solo Spot – a collection of new solos by bold Perth writers, directors and performers. Wednesdays the Perth Poetry Slam returns with the antipoet Allan Boyd. If 2009’s any indication, this will sell out!

Thursdays WA singers, songwriters and WAMi nominees play The Thursday Set. WAM then presents a late-night preview of the upcoming WAMi Festival in After party!. Fridays catch a repeat of Tuesday’s Solo Spot; and on 19 March independent theatre artists answer “Do you want to Fringe?”, a discussion about how to ‘Make fringe festivals work for you’.
