Many families have a black sheep, for film maker Britt Arthur, the black sheep was her Uncle Robert.
Thirty years ago Uncle Robert did something bad and made a dramatic departure from the Arthur family home.
For the next 30 thirty years the family never spoke of him and Britt was too young to remember him, but she developed a fascination for her long lost Uncle.
Sadly Britt would never meet Uncle Robert; just before Christmas the Arthur family received a phone call saying he’d passed away.
Britt packed her camera and made the trip to her Uncle Bluey’s funeral with her father.
Not only did she discover more about her Uncle, but she also discovered the things that tear a family apart can also bring them together.
‘My Uncle Bluey’ is a very personal Western Australian short film that’s screening as part of the Revelation Film Festival. Writer/Director Britt Arthur joined Danae Gibson on Morning Magazine to share her story.
