ANZAC Myth?

Monday 21st April / posted by Chris Wheeldon

The ANZAC myth is exactly that, a myth, one which grows more and more distant from the real history of the First World War with each passing year.  How is it that so many young Australians are prepared to embark on a pilgrimage halfway around the world to Gallipoli, yet in the main know very little about why so many soldiers died there?  Is it possible that ANZAC Day has become irretrievably tainted by a pro-war agenda?

The Indymedia Show’s Alex Whisson caught up with historian Robert Bollard, author of the newly published to discuss these questions and more.
