The small to medium arts sector is a great asset to the states economy.
A new report by the National Association for the Visual Arts shows S-2-M arts organisations attracted a paying audience of over 1.2-million people in 2013, and well over 600-thousand for for free events.
The sector employed 1,653 people and engaged with 1,757 volunteers in the same period, despite the federal governments 55 percent decline in per-capita arts spending since 2008.
The report is calling for the federal arts budget to be doubled.
