Being Green

Friday 28th March / presented by Peter Barr

We’re heading back to the polls next week to conclude what’s been an odd chapter in Australian politics.

Many missing ballot papers means we’re voting again to install or keep people in the WA Senate; and there’s an increasing number of intriguing characters putting their hand up to have a go.

Some of them don’t have a chance and nor should they: single-issue parties that seem intent on merely clogging up the system, messing with minds, and getting in the way of actual progress.

You can say a lot of things about Greens Senator Scott Ludlam but one thing seems true – he’s one passionate guy.

He’s also one of the hardest-working pollie’s around – at a student protest the other day, up a tree yesterday, and hitting the decks tomorrow night – and with Pete.
