Evidence Of Abuse in Offshore Detention

Wednesday 15th March / presented by Paul Hunt

This morning, Amnesty International Australia has given evidence at a Senate Inquiry into allegations of abuse, self-harm and neglect in offshore detention centres.

The organisation’s delivered its findings into claims that the Australian Government is directly responsible for a system that amounts to torture.

And it hopes the inquiry will lead to the Government evacuating the camps, relocating refugees to safety within Australia and ending offshore detention.

Paul Van Lieshout spoke with Amnesty Australia International’s Refugee Coordinator Dr Graham Thom.
