FITTER | HAPPIER: Women and STI’s

Thursday 22nd March / presented by Jorja Keay

Sex means different things to different people.
Whatever it means to you though, talking and learning more about sex along with sexual health is a great way to feel more prepared, more empowered and more likely to make the decisions that are right for you when it comes to relationships and sexual activity.

These days it's especially important to be talking about sexual health, given the recent increase in Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's)...latest statistics show that STI's such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia and syphilis are on the rise in Perth) and that out of the more than 11,500 chlamydia cases in WA last year; atleast 29% of these cases were reported to be among heterosexual women in their twenties.  with some of the biggest increases being recorded within women.

Dr. Jenny McCloskey is a Sexual Health Specialist and the head of Sexual Health Services at Royal Perth Hospital…and she joined us on today's issue of FITTER HAPPIER to educate us a little bit more on this particular topic...
