Humans of RTRFM: Ann Tonks

Thursday 22nd June / presented by Caitlin Nienaber

All year we’re celebrating RTRFM’s 40th anniversary and the many people and programs that have made The Sound Alternative more than just a radio station.

This week on Humans of RTRFM we are featuring Ann Tonks who was the General Manager of 6UVS between 1987 and 1989.

In the nearly three decades since she was part of the station Ann has had a fascinating and successful career in many areas of arts management, including a long stint as the head of The Melbourne Theatre Company.

Last week she was recognised with an Order of Australia medal in the Queen’s Birthday honours.

Ann caught up with Caitlin on Breakfast to take a look back on where it all began.
