Juvenile Justice

Monday 30th June / posted by Chris Wheeldon

Young people through every generation are associated with dangerous and at times reckless behaviour. A result of a multifaceted group of events and psychological changes that commonly happen within young lives.

At times, during some of these experimental stages, pre teens and teens can cross paths with the legal system.

What types of things makes it more likely for a person to be in trouble with the law? What current systems are in place for youth who are in such situations?

Youth News presenter Tanya Bunter spoke to Professor Kate Offer from UWA who has past experience as a children’s court Lawyer, as well as a young volunteer from the Red Cross Save A Mate program, Amanda Meney.
