Leon Vynehall’s Latest Movements

Thursday 12th July / presented by Will Backler

British producer Leon Vynehall has been enthralling listeners with his unique approach to crafting engaging, textured dance music for the best part of the decade. He has just released his second album, Nothing is Still (a recent RTRFM Feature Album), and it is by far his most enthralling and ambitious work to date.

Inspired by stories of his grandparents emigrating from the UK to the US, Vynehall co-wrote a novella with author Max Sztyber, with the chapters of the novella being interpreted by Vynehall as the tracks of the album.

The result is a magical, majestic full-length combining elements from ambient, classical, hip-hop and various styles of dance music, sure to be on many end of year best-of lists.

RTRFM Music Coordinator Will Backler caught up with Leon to get the low down on the new project, and started off by asking if the title Nothing is Still was in reference to his grandparent's emigration stories...
