Literary Letdown

The annual Prime Minister’s Literary Awards has met a delay this year due to the failure of the Abbott government to finalise judges.

Each year three judging panels are chosen and have roughly three months to read up to 150 books, confer, and finally decide on the winners, up for $600,000 in prize money across six categories.

Crikey Deputy Editor Cathy Alexander joins us to shed some light on the situation…
