NAIDOC Week: Overcoming Language and Cultural Barriers

Thursday 6th July / presented by Chris Mason

The Kimberly Interpreting Service is the only indigenous translating service in Western Australia.

They provide interpreters for over 18 Kimberley and Central Desert Indigenous languages.

With this years NAIDOC week themed on language, we thought it would be great to learn more about the importance of being able to break the language and cultural barriers through translation.

Chris was joined on The Mag this morning by Dee Lightfoot and Gail Yorkshire from the Kimberly Interpreting Service to talk more about the service as well as by Olive Knight who performed an acoustic song.
