#notremotelyfunny

Friday 25th September / presented by Graeme Watson

Tropscore a short-film festival renowned for giving chances for up and coming film composers – has stirred up some controversy with one of this years selected films, Remote.

Melbourne-based composer, performer and punk priestess, Jennifer Kingwell, is calling for action against casual misogyny that trivialises and normalises domestic violence with the online movement #notremotelyfunny.

After conferring with her so-called fellow ‘witches/feminists/composers’, Jennifer’s calling for a creative dissent against violence and misogyny through submitting ‘femmo/anti-misogynistic’ audio pieces.

Jennifer joined RTRFM’s Graeme Watson on Artbeat to discuss the movement and how people can get involved.
