PREMIERE: New Video/Single From The Fruity Whites

Wednesday 19th April / posted by Caitlin Nienaber

Back in 2013, local band The Fruity Whites released what they’ve called a “shambolic 2-track lo-fi mess” called Goon Tapes.

Before they follow it up with their debut full-length album they’ve released new single and video Getting it Together.

Recorded and mixed by Jordan Shakespeare and mastered by Mikey Young, it’s a crisp country-pop jangler dominated by bright resonator and soaring violin.

Vocalist Hugh Manning says Getting it Together is about “realising that sobriety and happiness and ‘adulthood’ are all things that are gonna require constant upkeep – these kinds of stability are never going to be entirely self-sustaining.”

The single’s video, directed, produced and edited by James Enderby and Tashi James Stewart features band members and stand-ins performing household chores in sunny suburban bliss.

The Fruity Whites are performing at Fairbridge Festival, Pinjarra, 21st- 24th April.
