Raise Your Voice Against Job Insecurity with United Voice

Monday 13th November / presented by Zoe Zarzycki

With the holiday season approaching, many people will soon be picking up casual and part time work. They join millions around the country in similar conditions – in fact, Australia has one of the highest rates of casual employment in the OECD.

While casual employment has many benefits, it often places employees in a precarious position in relation to their employers. Women, migrants and young people are especially vulnerable to workplace exploitation.

To talk about this and more, Karma Lord joins us. Karma previously worked as an early childhood educator and campaigned in the US for fair wages for fast food employees. She now works for the United Voice labour union here in WA.
