Research Shows Education Inequality in Australia

Thursday 29th June / presented by Chris Mason

New research on the extent of education inequality across Australia has revealed that West Australian students are funded at a higher rate than others around the country.

But the research, by Curtin University, has also revealed 40 per cent of children in disadvantaged areas in WA were attending 15 hours of preschool per week. compared to almost 70 per cent nationally.

The Educate Australia Fair? : Education Inequality in Australia report, examined the extent of educational disadvantage across and within Australia’s states and territories and among vulnerable groups.

Curtin University’s Associate Professor Mike Dockery, joined Chris Mason to talk more on the topic.
