RIP Brian Davis – Saturday Jazz

Wednesday 7th February / posted by Chris Wheeldon

RIP to Long-time Jazz Presenter on RTRFM Brian Davis who died on Wednesday 31 January, 2018 at the age of 83.

Brian presented a Thursday night Jazz program for a number of years in the 1990s before taking over the reins at Saturday Jazz when the program presenter John Greene moved away from Perth.

Brian continued to present Saturday Jazz, for the most part on his own each week, at a time when the show was scheduled for three hours, until August 2004. He later returned to local radio as one of the presenters of a Sunday morning Jazz program on Perth’s Heritage FM.

Brian had a deep love of all forms of Jazz and an extensive knowledge of the music and musicians, which showed in the quality of the programs he provided for the RTRFM listeners in his Thursday night programs and his Saturday Jazz programs.

RTRFM send our condolences to his family and friends and thank him for sharing his love of jazz with us.

Brian’s funeral will take place at 1:30pm next Tuesday, 13 February, at Simplicity Funerals, 442 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park
