The Beauty of Ecology with Simon Cherri(Bird)man

Thursday 14th September / presented by Chris Mason

Simon Cherriman is crazy about birds…being an ecologist who spends most of his time up in the tree-tops of the Perth hills, he plays surrogate mum to a three-week-old wedge-tailed eaglet.

He’s been studying wedge-tailed eagles in WA for the past 15 years, and has dedicated his PhD to the lives of them; using crowd-funding to attach tracking devices to the eagles. From his research, Simon has found out that despite being apex predators, these eagles are extremely vulnerable to human activity.

Simon is with us today to tell us more about his passion…
