The Panama Papers Unpacked

Some of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful people – including the Russian President, Ukrainian President, the Prime Ministers of Iceland and Pakistan, the King of Saudi Arabia and the family of China’s top leader, Xi Jinping – are reeling from the unprecedented release of the Panama Papers.

The cache of more than 11 million emails, contracts, bank records and other sensitive documents came from files of the Panamanian-based law firm Mossack Fonseca.

They were revealed after a year-long investigation by an international consortium of investigative journalists, including the ABC’s Four Corners program.

Curtin University’s Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Security Studies Dr Alexey Muraviev and RTRFM’s Kylie Sturgess took a look at the Panama Papers…
