Understorey: Roe to Nowhere

Wednesday 4th November / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

Don’t mention Perth Freight Link – it’s Roe 9 from now on, says Premier Colin Barnett, only he isn’t sure when it might be built.  The Feds are confused, having promised $925 million for this project that’s actually called Perth Freight Link.

The Cities Minister expects the truck tollway to be completed on time, and just as promised: through the Beeliar Wetlands, and then as a second stage wend a way to Canning Highway, across the Swan River and finish without a traffic light at the Fremantle Port. With 500 trucks a day arriving at Stock Road, is this a Roe to Nowhere?   The Understorey team go along to the sunny bright Fremantle Festival parade to check community reactions to the Premier’s latest new direction in city planning.
