Understorey: Wetlands World Focus

Wednesday 15th February / posted by RTR

South-West WA attracts global interest because of our biodiversity in a unique landscape.  On World Wetlands Day every year scientists, researchers, campaigners, protectors and a couple of politicians confer to scrutinise research and consider how well our wetlands are being managed, including how well we meet international ecological obligations like Ramsar.

With the effects of the Roe 8 bulldozers only metres away,  hear Professor Philip Jennings, President of the Wetlands Conservation Society; Chris Tallentire , Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change; UWA Law Professor, Alex Gardner; and Mark Batty from the WA Local Government Association reflect on the value of wetlands, and the question of regulatory failure, and how to survive difficult times.
