Formation

Matt and Adam had known each other for some years, playing on experimental bills together and even collaborating live as part of Greg Taw's Ghost of 29 Megacycles project. Matt asked Adam to play piano on his 2009 album Repeat, and after Matt used recordings from that original session on his Tape Series 1 release they upscaled the project, enlisting the help of friends to professionally record a fifty-five minute improvisation on a Fazioli grand piano in August 2010. That session became the basis for their debut album Terrane.
