Retraset’s sound varies from lush funky synth grooves, to darker, more experimental burns. With a keen attention to detail each song is unique and interesting. My main goal is to just make really fun songs to listen to on your own, or to dance to with a crowd.
I really got into music production after playing with a friends korg volca keys for hours on end at a music festival. I fell in love, and from then on I knew I wanted to give it a crack.
I guess a lot of my early influences come from modern electronic artists like Flume, Bonobo and Tourist. But as my sound is progressing I find myself spreading my field of influence to far weirder and more wonderful realms.
I have done a couple of gigs with Local talent Soulin Wild.
The whole learning experience has been amazing. Knowing that I can still learn something new. A massive highlight would have to be playing to a huge crowd of mates at Bitch House 2017.
Currently working on my third EP (unnamed yet) which is nearly finished. Just running it through the last mixing and mastering passes. I plan to release it within a few months.
I've been in a few bands, and am in another one currently, however we have yet to release anything. I played bass with Carla Geneve in our band 'Locust' back in the day.
