What to expect
RTRFM’s annual subscriber drive RADIOTHON returns this August 12 – 21.
This year, we’re asking listeners to COME TO THE PARTY and support the local radio station that supports local artists, local musicians and local issues.
The festivities will kick off at 6am on Breakfast with Caitlin and last for 10 days, finishing on Sunday August 21 after the conclusion of Sunday Morning Coming Down at 12 noon.
Throughout the 10-day Radiothon extravaganza, the RTRFM studios will be inundated with special guests across the grid – from appearances of former presenters to live performances from local musicians, with shenanigans and prizes aplenty in between.
Become an RTRFM subscriber during Radiothon and you could win First Prize, The Ultimate Festival Experience! That includes a double pass to Southbound, Nannup Music Festival, Groove in the Moo, Fairbridge Festival, Breakfest, Camp Doogs and St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
Plus we’ll make sure you’re festival ready with a swag of camping gear and party essentials. Thanks to Sunset Events, Nannup Music Festival, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Camp Doogs, Boomtick and Fairbridge Festival.
Subscribers also have the chance to win a smorgasbord of major prizes, including a $3,000 Home Solar Package courtesy of Infinite Energy, along with a collection of over 90 albums from RTRFM feature artists over the past 12 months.
RTRFM relies on the generosity of our listeners to keep the station on air and the lights on. RTRFM does not receive any on going government funding but more so looks to subscribers and donors to keep the station operating throughout the year. Radiothon, each year accounts for close to 1/3 of the operating costs for the station and allows us to continue to bring you the best and most diverse independent radio in WA.
RTRFM offers subscription packages for students and holders, bands, businesses, families, and offers special bonuses to Gold & Platinum subscribers. Each subscription category has its own associated major prize, while subscribers who pay for their subscription upfront will be eligible for daily prizes which will be announced in the coming weeks. The major prize draws will be drawn on Saturday October 15 after the pledging period closes.
RTRFM’s dedicated team of phone room volunteers will take listener subscriptions and donations throughout Radiothon period on 9260 9210. Listeners can also subscribe online at rtrfm.com.au.
Radiothon is an annual tradition and the biggest event on RTRFM’s busy event calendar. It coincides with the RTRFM Radiothon Party on Saturday August 13, a celebration of all things community radio and local music, where 20 local acts will take over four spaces in Northbridge: The Bird, Ezra Pound, the State Theatre Centre & Studio Underground.
