Employment Opportunity: RTRFM 92.1 Breakfast Presenter and Producer

Part-time, 25 hours/week

$40,300 p/a ($31/hr)

RTRFM is an independent, not-for-profit, community radio station. We produce a range of different programs including current affairs programs; art and cultural exploration programs in theatre, film, and visual arts; and music-based programs focused on genres as varied as vintage rock, blues, dub step, post rock, jazz, women in music, indie pop, folk, punk, contemporary independent and avant-garde compositions.

We are seeking an exciting and dynamic Breakfast Presenter/Producer to take RTRFM’s breakfast program to the world and entertain listeners with an alternative to other breakfast radio programs.  RTRFM focus on local topics and exciting and ground-breaking independent music, arts and culture from across the globe.

A 30-minute pre-recorded RTRFM breakfast radio program featuring songs, talk breaks, one example interview and one example ongoing possible program segment as you would envisage your breakfast program sounding. (Dropbox/Google Drive link preferred if over 20Mb)

RTRFM is an independent community radio station servicing the Perth metropolitan area.  The company has a strong focus on local arts and music and offers an alternative to mainstream media organizations.  We have 50 different programs focusing on different issues and music styles.

We are seeking a Development Manager to expand our Sponsorship client base.  The successful applicant will be responsible for pursuing and managing relationships with new sponsors for the station, meeting set sponsorship targets, scripting and scheduling sponsorship announcements and sourcing prizes for RTRFM promotions.

The position is a full-time position.

Knowledge of the local arts, culture and government sectors are essential, as is experience in other sales or marketing roles. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Experience in other sales-orientated role
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in cold calling clients
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a team environmentPreferable
  • Extensive knowledge of community radio, and in particular RTRFM
  • Extensive knowledge of the local arts, culture and government business sector
  • Experience in other roles in the media
  • Ability to start immediately
