Understorey: Wording the Wheatbelt pt3

When gazing from his favourite vantage point atop the granite outcrops in remote Western Australia, Tony Hughes-D'Aeth imagines what once was, beautiful uncleared spaces, and wonders if it might be possible to create a wheatbelt of a kind not so total and not so eradicated – a vision of restoration perhaps, with an end to clearing, reserves joining up into green corridors, salinity-lost lands regenerated, for a new sustainability. In this final part of Understorey's interview with the author of the literary history of WA's wheatbelt - "Like Nothing on this Earth" - Tony Hughes-D'Aeth says it's important to take our experience of history and use it practically.
