After completing my undergraduate degree a couple of years ago I wandered aimlessly until I decided to pursue my interest in journalism.
How did you become involved in the station?
I started out newsreading in April 2015 before Peter Barr roped me into helping out on the production desk. Quickly I was contributing to The Mag as well as co-producing The Wire alongside Paul van Lieshout Hunt. Now I’m on the other side of the desk – playing tunes and spinning yarns.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
- The Beatles – Help!
- Biffy Clyro – The Vertigo of Bliss
- Frightened Rabbit – The Midnight Organ Fight
- Pink Floyd – Animals
- The Delgados – The Great Eastern
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
The chance to create and broadcast incredible content alongside a group of very talented and committed people.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
Anything involving old mate Peter Barr is pretty wacky.
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
I’d love the opportunity to present Siamese Dream – wall-to-wall ’90s bangers.
What do you do in real life?
I’m a post-grad Broadcasting student and — on occasion — work in retail.
