On Air : Listen

I grew in PNG & WA in my earlier years and then went overseas travelling and working from about 1996- 2014.. since being back in Perth I have loved reconnecting with the many places and people from my younger years and in particular with radio, and RTRFM, which I used to listen too and became determined to one day doing my own show for.

How did you become involved in the station?

I contacted RTRFM as I wanted to do a show and play some tunes on the radio, did the 5 week training course with Sarah Tout and just like magic, here I am.

If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?

  • Bob Dylan – Live at Budokan
  • Paul Kelly – Songs From The South
  • Amelie – The Full Soundtrack
  • Gregorian Chants – Coro De Monjes Del Monasterio Benedictino De Santo Domingo De Silos
  • Mogwai – Mr Beast

What is the best thing about being involved in the station?

Being part of a community that I have a great deal of respect for and being exposed to music that I would never have otherwise been exposed too.

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?

Rocking up to do a Snooze Button show (4-6am), and tapping on the glass to the other booth to say hello to the girl who was doing Up Late show (1-4am), and she jumped about a metre up and across because I gave her such a fright.

If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why? Thats a hard one.. I have been listening to music since I was very young so have much love for music that has been and continues to be the historical soundtrack to my life, which I really enjoy being able to play for people.… similarly, I love hearing new bands & music and in particular meeting the people behind that music and then playing their stuff… so new & older stuff is what I like to play.. a wine allergy would be the difference between drinking older great well know wine that are already ‘famous’, against finding the up coming wine makers and enjoying there new versions of varieties and regions… I love them both.

What do you do in real life?

Own and Operate a wine wholesale / importing business.
