Karun Cowper

I’m interested in human consciousness and its “health” – as individuals and as a collective. It is clear that as a race we stand at an important crossroads. A juncture that provides us huge opportunities and challenges for positive change, both in our little lives and also in the larger world.  I also like to make weird whale-like noises on guitar.

How did you become involved in the station?

I’ve been a “fan” of Alex and Ray’s efforts on the Indymedia show for a number of years.  After noticing the magnificently erudite Alex doing the show by himself a few weeks running I rather belatedly offered to give him a hand.   I took the challenge of the shows byline “be the media” and here I am.

If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?

  • Air – “Moon Safari”
  • The Flaming Lips – “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots”
  • Radiohead – “In Rainbows”
  • The Tea Party – “Splendor Solis”
  • The Stone Roses – “Second Coming”

What is the best thing about being involved in the station?

Being the media.

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?

My co-presenter stole my wallet!

If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?

Morning Mag, Siamese Dream or perhaps even Full circle!

What do you do in real life?

Organiser for Occupy Perth. Holistic counselor, administrator @ the LiFE Academy.  Father to the two cutest boys in the universe.
