A warm boy on a quest for the sublime. I’m just here to spin obscure yarns, get my 2 fruit 5 veg and have a boogie when I can.
How did you become involved in the station?
I’ve always had an interest in radio. I had done a little bit of community radio while at high school in 2011 back in my hometown. I’d been listening to RTRFM for a while and then in 2016 I got an offer to do RTR’s presenter’s course, absolutely frothed it and here we are.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
- LCD Soundsystem – Sound of Silver
- Foals – Holy Fire
- Red Hot Chili Peppers – Stadium Arcadium
- Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
- La Dispute – Wildlife
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
Just being on air for a great station and being able to share my favourite music to others is a lovely feeling.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
Watch this space.
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
Probably Underground Solution: I spend so much time rifling through the weirdest pockets of Soundcloud for new tracks and I always find so many gems, often by bedroom producers with only a few hundred followers. I just really enjoy discovering unique electronica and would love to share it in that format.
What do you do in real life?
When not shut in the library due to the 3rd year of my political science & IR / philosophy undergrad majors, I can be found larking at the beach, going to gigs, pretending to know how to ballroom dance at parties, eating scotch-eggs, getting hysterical about every dog I see, playing the drums and thoroughly enjoying a good pair of overalls.
