Raised in NZ on a healthy dose of “choice bro,” I spent the 90s discovering sex, drugs and rock & roll (metaphorically of course – it was the grunge era). I moved from heavy guitar laden music to electronic, psychedelic craziness and obsessed to the point of DJing to large groups of weird, like-minded peeps. Whilst maintaining a wide interest in all musical types I now have a passion (obsessive compulsive nature) for danceable flavours including deep dub, techno, deep house, weird tech house and techno. I enjoy playing festivals and gigs with the finest music loving individuals and I love hot showers. I am an introverted extrovert!
How did you become involved in the station?
I was on the way back from an overseas trip in 2013 when the taxi driver had some crazy radio station playing some weird kind of self help record that had all these 1950’s voice over sayings like “the music makes you feel better….ding”. This caused a minor hallelujah moment and I started to listen to RTRFM and here I am.
If stuck on Mars, what five albums could you not go without?
- Biosphere – Substrata
- Pete Namlook & Geir Jennsen – The Fires of Ork 2
- Leonard Cohen – The Songs of Leonard Cohen
- Alice in Chains – Dirt
- Ministry – In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
The free isolation tank with the awesome speakers. Seriously, no people around, I talk into a microphone and play LOUD music and no one can see me, oh yeah – livin’ the dream!
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
When they approve the show and I come up with a name for it we’ll talk.
What do you do in real life?
That’s a bit personal, I do stuff…
