With years of club and festival experience behind her, Sistym enjoys educating a crowd with relevant new sounds as well as dusting off classic records. Dark techy rollers, liquid, minimal Drum and Bass, as well as more left-field halftime beats all have a home when it comes to a Sistym DJ set. Finding the perfect amount of impact and emotion within the music to move a dance-floor while staying true to the craft is her main focus when on the job.
Passionately supporting Drum and Bass culture with a positive approach from the very beginning has been fundamental to Sistym’s development as an artist. Having supported countless international top tier Drum and Bass artists in Perth, she recently toured through Europe in 2018, playing at iconic venues such as Cross Club [Prague], Storm Club [Prague] and A38 [Budapest].
How did you become involved in the station?
I’ve had guest appearances on RTRFM over the years and thought I would give radio presenting a shot for something new.
What is the best thing about being involved in the station?
Getting to share different genres of electronic music I love but don’t get booked to play in clubs. In addition, being able to promote underground producers and record labels on a wider reaching platform is pretty neat.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you at RTRFM?
Haven’t been there long enough to find out!
If you could present a show other than your own, which would it be and why?
Full Frequency – I’ve been listening to it for years and have always discovered awesome tunes from the shows
What do you do in real life?
Eat lots of pizza, take photos of stuff, skate, make beats and daydream about my next overseas trip
