Radiothon is RTRFM’s annual subscription drive. It's the time of year when our presenters, volunteers and staff call on you, our listeners, to put your money where your ears are and SUBSCRIBE and donate to keep community radio strong and vibrant.

The financial support you give us during Radiothon makes up 30% of our annual income and makes sure we can continue to make the independent radio which is an essential part of a vibrant local culture and diverse media landscape.

You’ll hear all about it on the radio, and it’s your chance to show your support and be in the running to win some great prizes!

  • Sit back at home, help flatten the curve and enjoy some of the videos that RTRFM has on offer!
Slightly Odway with Cinema Prague saw the local band recently reformed in their classic trio formation for a special one-off show and to play their take of Pendulum's epic "Tarantula"
  • Keeping you company in this time of social isolating... Head back through our history of Slightly Odway videos, including Benjamin Witt's steamy take of "Divinity" by Kučka back in 2018
  • Already watched everything on Netflix whilst self isolating? Head over to the RTRFM website to check out our Slightly Odway videos, recorded live in the RTRFM Studios.
This one features Helen Shanahan‘s soulful take of Timothy Nelson's "Just You".
  • Goodbye old friend and neigbour @theflyingscotto.
  • As well as our feature albums, be sure to check out our weekly Sound Selection for the hottest new and forthcoming tunes - perfect for finding new music while isolating. Link is below!

https://rtrfm.com.au/features/

This week's selection includes sounds from @noahdillonmusic / @eggquest / @hodgebristol / @lanarkmusic / @aphir_ / Es / @haircareband_ / @human_movement / @madprofessorariwa & Canita / @annaisaburch / @katenvy / @yvestumor / @kraejiyaeji / @bolt_fun
  • This week's RTRFM feature album is 'It Is What It Is' from @thundercatmusic.

The musical cosmic traveller who is Thundercat holds absolutely nothing back on his genre-defying, vibe-jumping new album, It Is What It Is. In his own words, the "album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that" and musically, 'It Is What It Is' certainly reflects that, jumping from spaced out jazz fusion to bassy, bouncy funk, to chilled hip-hop and reverb soaked R&B. An exhilarating listen from start to finish, the record shows not only Thundercat's range as a musician, but let's us share the many peaks and troughs of his emotions, as channelled into the album. Indeed It Is What It Is is what it is ... and it is great.
  • This week's local feature album is TRAVELLIN' from @thegenuinechan.

Not content playing in local groups @demon_days_band and @supathicksupathick, Fremantle's Joshua Chan has AKA thegenuinechan released a playful beat tape of catchy instrumentals, TRAVELLIN'. Comprised of 9 tracks Chan describes as "soundtracks to specific experiences the producer has had while embarking on various travel adventures", TRAVELLIN' takes listeners on a journey through smooth low-fi hip-hop inspired beats, featuring dreamy synths and retro video game-esque motifs. With each track appropriately named after a different mode of transport, TRAVELLIN' is a perfect soundtrack to any form of travelling, from outdoor journeys to venturing into the minds eye.
  • Stay inside where possible over the next few weeks and spend some time relaxing. Head over to our website and check out a huge range of WA artists on our Slightly Odway series.
