  • Next Tuesday March 3rd we've got a surprise performance live on air from one of Perth's favourite current acts!

To help us launch our 27th In The Pines, we're hosting a secret gig with one of the acts on the Pines lineup in the brand new RTRFM Common Space!

You can listen in on the radio, or head to the RTRFM socials where we'll be broadcasting the whole thing so you don't miss out.

Tune into Breakfast with Taylah on RTRFM 92.1 from 8am next Tuesday to hear some live tunes from the band and hear Taylah announce the full lineup for In The Pines 2020!

If you would like to be in the audience and you are a subscriber, drop us a line at admin@rtrfm.com.au. Fist in best dressed.
  • “We went to the Big Day Out early to catch their set and I was just sold immediately"

Local music legend @timothynelsonmusic was back in the Brekky studio for round two of Slightly Odway.

This time he harked back to his youth, and took on Institut Polaire's The Fauna & The Flora Are Too Closely Allied.

There's new music from Timothy Nelson, with an album out mid 2020, he shared the first cut Your House.

You can catch the launch show on March 13 at The Bassendean Hotel. 🎤: Damon Sutton & Isla Dunne
📸: Matt Puccinelli @CapturaObscura

  • The Final Talk The Talk is live now! Tune In, Stream, and enjoy the final instalment of Talk The Talk on RTRFM 92.1...
  • This week's RTRFM feature album is Man Alive! from King Krule (aka @pluvials). London's Archy Marshall reprises his King Krule alias with his dark and despondent third album, Man Alive! At just 25, Marshall is already one of modern alternative music's most influential artist, a position he more than maintains on his new album, a record that expands on his now signature fusion of hip-hop, post-punk, dub and jazz elements, all underscored by his unmistakable gravely vocal drawls. Lyrically, Marshall wittily and poetically details observations both of society and of himself, touching on themes from isolation, miscommunication and self-doubt, on this record that's he's described as a "pre-document of fatherhood", resulting in a potentially his most personal and profound album to date.
  • This week's local feature album is fechno from Yawn Chorus.

Never one to sit still, playing around town in bands like COSY, Supernaked, Lucas Kole & Noah Dillon, local multi-instrumentalist Sam Rocchi has unveiled his debut solo album fechno under his Yawn Chorus alias, an album of engrossing, exploratory, emotional electronic compositions. Using old samples in entirely new ways, fechno is an awesome blend of neo-classical meets ambient compositions with an injection of pulsing dance-floor inspired percussion, while all sorts of synths and serene instruments blend smoothly in the mix. A departure from much of the music we've heard from Rocchi in the past, fechno shows this songwriter, performer and producer's depth when it comes to crafting electronic music.
  • THIS WEDNESDAY, talented musician Natasha Shanks of @littlelordstreetband is joining us at Wireless Hill Park from 7pm for #girlsgotrhythm !

The session includes debunking the "masculinity of rock" mythology, a Q&A format about women in music in the 70s and 80s as well as the current music environment, interspersed with unplugged music by this incredible talent!

Tickets available through our bio!
  • Thanks everyone who came to Harbour Sundays over the last four weeks... Over 2000 of you came by and danced with us on a Sunday at Maritime @wamuseum.

Sorry to those who had to wait tonight, capacity was hit pretty early.
See you next year. 📸 @sixstringsphotographyaustralia
