A GOOD LOOKING MAN BUILDS A BOAT

Friday 23rd October / presented by Kylie Sturgess

The Fremantle Festival is in its 110th year and will feature more than 85 free and ticketed visual art, comedy, music, theatre, sporting and cultural events over ten days from today.

A fishing boat reclaimed from the Swan River will be the featured centrepiece of Australia’s longest-running festival.

Producer Brendan Hutchings and artist Andrew Christie are refitting the 1960’s river boat outside of the Fremantle Town Hall in King’s Square in attempt to explore the idea of what makes a home.

The pair is enlisting the help of both qualified and unqualified members of the community to re-fit the boat in an attempt to learn and share how a workforce can be pulled together.

Andrew and Brendan join Kylie Sturgess, direct from the boat, to tell us more.
