A Little History

Friday 24th October / presented by Rhian Todhunter

Photographer and author Bleddyn Butcher was born in England and scathed in Western Australia.

He worked at music bible NME during the 1980’s, photographing musicians and authors – his photos appearing in various journals and in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.

He also published Save What You Can: The Day of the Triffids, a biography of the band’s prime mover David McComb.

Now, he’s released A Little History, a beautiful photographic collection of Nick Cave and his cohorts from the time the Birthday Party landed in the UK in the early 80’s until 2013’s Push The Sky Away.

RTRFM’s Jason Cleary spoke to Bleddyn Butcher and asked what attracts him to a particular photographic subject…
