Alex & Eve & Multiculturalism on Screen

Wednesday 28th October / presented by Caitlin Nienaber

In a week dominated by headlines about Geert Wilders and the likes of The Australian Liberty Alliance, it might be easy to think Australia is an intolerant place.

Film and TV director Peter Andrikidis doesn’t think so.

He has made a career out of portraying real Australians in series like East West 101 and Janet King as well as satirising his greek heritage in The Kings of Mykonos.

His latest piece of work is romantic comedy Alex & Eve: a Romeo and Juliet tale of a Lebanese Muslim woman and a Greek man who meet and fall in love.

Caitlin asked Andrikidis what he thinks about the state of multiculturalism in Australia.
