An illustrated history of the Lester Prize

Tuesday 19th November / presented by Bec Bowman

Founded in 2007 by Tina Wilson, The Lester Prize (formerly known as the Black Swan Portraiture Prize) is now the third-richest in the nation.

Dr. Shelley Craddock has documented the history of the prize in her beautiful new book Through the Artist's Eyeswhich brings together 65 artworks from previous years presented with stories about the artists and their paintings. She shared some of this history with us on Artbeat last week.

You can also catch our interview with Lori Pensini, who won the Tony Fini Foundation Award for her work Banksia Grandis (love begets love), right here- big congrats to Lori and all winners of this year's Prize!
