Animal Abuse in the Arts Vol. 2

Friday 28th April / presented by Jane Hebiton

Previously Artbeat looked into the controversy surrounding the exhibition 150.Action, in particular the live performance piece intended for the Tasmanian art festival known as Dark Mofo, created by artist Hermann Nitsch.

The show is drawing outrage from animal rights group by incorporating confronting use of the blood, flesh and organs from a slaughtered cow. A petition with 20,000 signatures opposing the graphic performance has been handed to the Hobart City Council.

Kristy Alger from Animal Liberation Tasmania joined Artbeat once again to discuss this latest update to the issue.
