Anti-Poverty Week

Tuesday 17th October / posted by Chris Wheeldon

Three million people in Australia live below the poverty line, 731,000 of them are children.

The Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS) is signatory to the joint statement recently released by the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS).

ACOSS is marking the beginning of Anti-Poverty Week with a renewed call for government to stop attacking Australia’s social safety net, and the people who need it, and instead focus on reducing child poverty.

Louise Giolitto is the Chief Executive Officer of WACOSS and spoke this morning with Simon on The Mag about what needs to be done to reduce poverty.
