Articulating Landscapes

Jesse Martin began his budding career as an aspiring actor at the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, before being offered a six month stint at the Expressions Dance Company.

Now a choreographer and dancer for the Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, Jesse is the first Indigenous choreographer to win the Western Australian and Northern Territory round of Dance Creation 2014 with his piece Ghost Gum.

As part of Ochre’s choreographic workshop series Articulating Landscapes, Ghost Gum will feature alongside several other performances at the Masonic Contemporary Studio Nedlands, exploring our identity, our place, and our connections with the land.
