Artwalk Freo

Friday 14th June / presented by Tom Reynolds

Ros De Souza and Michael Knight from Artwalk Freo joined Tom in the studio for Artbeat. They told us all about the event which features; fashion designer and artist Megan Salmon, ceramic artist Pippin Drysdale, painter and sculptor Michael Knight and painter, arts educator and musician Ian de Souza.

Ros and Michael explained what inspired the exhibition/open house, and how it encourages people to step outside the norm.

Martin told us about the cleaning process involved for people to engage in the different immersive studio environments. He said that seeing where the art is made helps audiences engage and search for their own creativity.

Ros went into detail about each of the Artwalk Freo artists; with Pippin having exhibited worldwide and Megan having a background in the fine arts. She talked about her husband, Ian de Souza, and explained what she contributes to stay creatively active.
